Collaboration

The cast and crew of Cinderella exemplify true collaboration in every aspect of their work. Throughout the production process, these students consistently demonstrated curiosity and fairness, drawing on prior theatrical experiences while eagerly adapting to new challenges. Whether refining blocking, troubleshooting technical elements, or reimagining scenes, they actively sought out information and solutions, supporting one another with a shared commitment to excellence.
What makes this group especially deserving of recognition is their respect for diverse perspectives. Cast and crew members alike created an environment where every voice was heard and valued—actors listening to stage managers, technicians collaborating with performers, and students across roles working together seamlessly. Their willingness to consider different ideas strengthened both their relationships and the final production.
Most importantly, their thoughtful choices had a clear, positive impact on others. They truly became a family. They lifted each other up during demanding rehearsals, stepped in to help without being asked, and remained focused on the collective success of the show rather than individual recognition. The result was not only a beautiful production but also a model of what meaningful student collaboration looks like in action. ~Carrie Gabbert

Alyse is an exceptional critical thinker whose work consistently reflects depth, insight, and purpose. Every piece of writing she produces shows careful, thoughtful analysis and an unwavering commitment to doing her absolute best. She approaches every assignment, big or small, with intention and pride, and it’s clear she holds herself to a very high standard. Her writing is often a model for others, especially in the way she develops ideas, supports them with strong, well-chosen evidence, and communicates with clarity and confidence. I am proud to recommend Jacob Murphy for recognition in the Portrait of a Graduate program under the tenet of Integrity. In a time when students face increasing pressures and ethical challenges, Jacob consistently stands out for his honesty, accountability, and strong moral character. He demonstrates integrity not just in words, but through his daily actions, making thoughtful, ethical choices and holding himself to high standards even when it would be easier not to.
What is especially notable is how Jacob approaches modern tools like artificial intelligence. While misuse is increasingly common in today’s educational environment, Jacob uses AI responsibly (as a tool to enhance his learning rather than replace it). This reflects a level of self-discipline and ethical awareness that is uncommon and deeply commendable.
Beyond the classroom, Jacob’s integrity extends into all aspects of his life. He is actively engaged in improving his community, runs a small business, and maintains excellent academic performance. He is also a dedicated member of the marching band and competes on a national skateboarding team, demonstrating commitment, balance, and perseverance. Whether performing on the field, contributing to his community, or riding vertical ramps, Jacob consistently shows up with authenticity and purpose.
Jacob embodies what it means to act with integrity in today’s world, and I can think of no student more deserving of this recognition. ~Jonathan Schmadeke

I would like to nominate our band program and their directors for recognition in collaboration and community impact. As a staff member, I have had the opportunity to hear firsthand how their work extends beyond the school walls and into the surrounding community. Community members, who live near the school, frequently
share how incredible the band sounds during practice. They genuinely look forward to sitting on their back porch and listening. What stands out most is how consistently the band represents our school with excellence. Recently, a couple in the community attended their first basketball game and mentioned that they could still hear the band playing all the way home, even after being inside the gym. Their enthusiasm speaks volumesabout the energy, dedication, and school spirit the band brings to every event.
Additionally, neighbors in the area have commented on how much they enjoy hearing the band in the evenings while out walking. This reflects not only musical talent, but also the positive connection the program fosters between our school and the broader community.
The band program exemplifies collaboration by bringing students, staff, families, and community members together through music and school pride. Their impact is both heard and felt, and I am proud to recognize their outstanding contribution. ~Debbie Levandowski
